Hey! An idea here. If you want an organization to donate not to - but via - where it will insure the absolute best attention to how your funds are spent - may we suggest the

Summit Area
Public Foundation
(in Summit, New Jersey)

This isn't a nickle & dime outfit. They oversee large charitable trusts.

You could donate funds for use in handicapped children's activities. You can designate sports etc. The members do the due diligence for every expenditure to be certain that funds are used as intended.

That includes private and industrial public works trusts etc. They have raised and distributed much money for many community ventures as well (built swimming pools in places that needed them etc.).

The SAPF underwrites the POSNA (Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America) medical billboard which serves as an informational relay and x-ray exchange between pediatric orthopedists in over 90 countries.

An example, the donation to us from Ansaldo Industries (Italy) for dance classes for children with disabilities was placed in SAPF oversight. Nothing gets spent without their review. In fact, we write no checks.

Your own community may have similar organizations. This beats being ripped off.

They are in Summit, New Jersey, 07901.

We also have a Childrens Neuromuscular Center fund which is used for similar smaller donations. Call (908) 522-5531 if interested.
